**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**
A Semi-Skilled Electrical Worker is responsible for maintaining electrical systems in buildings and structures. Their duties include working closely with other team members to inspect, install and repair electrical systems.
**Duties**:
q Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repairs
q Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
q Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
q Glanding and termination of electrical cables
q Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, or other components
q Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using relevant testing devices
q Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment
q Installation of ground leads and connect power cables to equipment
q Installation of unitrust and racking
q Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
q Installation of conduits and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
q Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications
q Welding and grinding components, equipment and fixtures using power tools
q Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls for electrical switches or outlets
q Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
q Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit, cables and moving and lifting heavy objects
q Perform general electrical work as needed
q Compliance to Health, Safety and Quality procedures
**REQUIREMENTS**
q Minimum Grade 10/ N1 Electrical Engineering
q Minimum 3 years’ experience performing electrical works
q HT Joint Certificate (advantage)
q Driver’s License (advantage)

q Ability to work both independently and as a team player
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Witbank, Mpumalanga: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
