A well-established independent community pharmacy situated in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs requires the services of an experienced and competent Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant.

**The Role**

Responsible for providing pharmaceutical services within scope the of practice of a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant. The role includes dispensing functions, customer interaction, stock management and general dispensary administration, in a well-managed and busy pharmacy with an established clientele accustomed to high standards of service.

**The role includes**:

- High standards of work and customer service and care.
- Attention to stock control and management.
- Administrative responsibilities and competency as part of a team.
- Accurate dispensing practice according to the GPP standards.
- Providing pharmaceutical and health advice to patients within the scope of practice.
- Attention to detail and good housekeeping practices.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Matric with Mathematics
- Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant
- Minimum of four years experience in a busy community pharmacy retail environment.

**Required Skills and Abilities**
- Integrity and able to operate as part of a competent team.
- Knowledge of the SA Pharmacy Council rules and expectations.
- Dispensing competency and product knowledge.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ethical working practices and maintaining high standard of work.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability within the dispensary environment as required.
- Competent using the RxWin dispensing platform.
- Experience using MS Word and Excel
- Fluent in English - Read, write and speak. Second language advantageous.
- Good communication skills and listening ability.
- Numerical literacy.
- Trustworthy and honest.
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to work under pressure and according to deadlines.
- Computer literate - MS Office

**Conditions of employment**
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Ability to work retail hours and shifts as required, including public holidays.
- Physically fit and able to stand for a long period of time.
- Clear criminal record
