- Essity is looking for a qualified Occupational Nurse to join our Human Resources Operations team. This position is based at our Manufacturing facility in Pinetown. Health & Safety and Wellness is a priority for the business, and we are looking for someone with excellent communication and engagement skills, who is proactive and passionate about what they do. _
**About the Role**:
The Occupational Nurse will be responsible to manage the occupational & primary health care program and ensure effective Clinic services. The incumbent will actively engage with all stakeholders to provide clear advice and direction on health and wellness matters. This role reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.

**What You Will Do**:
- Management of occupational and primary health care;
- Ensure mandatory surveillance medicals are done for all employees;
- Actively participate and execute health, risk and hazard identification and assessments;
- Manage incident investigation and reporting;
- Attend to on site injuries and emergencies;
- Complete accident reports in line with the OHS Act, submit to DOL and follow up on all claims;
- Pro-actively identify medical absence trends and refer employees for medical care;
- Be a key partner in ill health incapacity evaluations;
- Actively participate in regular site HSE meetings;
- Monitor chronic medical conditions;
- Dispense medication as regulated;
- Responsible for all operational and compliance administration in running the Clinic;
- Lead ongoing health and wellness awareness educational campaigns;
- Manage the first aid program.
**Who You Are**:
- Must be a qualified and registered Occupational Nurse with Primary Health care training;
- Must have between 7 - 10 years’ experience as an Occupational Nurse or in a similar role as an Occupational Health Practitioner, with exposure to Primary Health care in a Manufacturing environment;
- Completed training and experience in incident investigations and hazardous identification;
- Sound knowledge of all health related legislation;
- Must have a valid medicine dispensing license and be registered with SANC or SASHON;
- Excellent computer and administration skills - Microsoft package experience is essential.
- Must be an excellent communicator (written, verbal and listening) and be able to engage in a professional manner at various levels within the business;
- Excellent attention to detail to evaluate risk and potential consequences;
- Must be proactive and engage with courage in service delivery and decisions making;
- Excellent people skills with high integrity, care and empathy;
- Must be able to work in independently.
