PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To ensure that Learning and development objectives of the company are achieved. Responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating training programs to enhance employees' skills, knowledge and performance.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure that all new employees undergo Induction Training.
  2. Ensure training material is developed/designed for all new employees.
  3. Ensure that all arrangements are made for a successful completion of Induction training.
  4. Ensure relevant personnel (Trainer, Trainee, Human Resources, etc) signs receipt and acknowledges the successful completion of Induction training.
  5. Ensure refresher training is arranged monthly/quarterly/yearly/etc.
  6. Ensure Skills Audits are conducted on a yearly basis.
  7. Assess Skills Audit Scores and arrange relevant training for relevant levels of staff.
  8. Ensure outsourced/insourced trainer appointed and other arrangements have been made (i.e.: venue hire, communication to relevant personnel, diary availability, operations continuity, etc).
  9. Application to W&R SETA for Learnership funding.
  10. Deal with appointed Training Company.
  11. Ensure documents submitted to W&R SETA are accurate and correct.
  12. Together with Training Company, ensure that reimbursed funds are received.
  13. Ensure all training modules are captured and recorded.
  14. Ensure every training register is signed by relevant personnel.
  15. Ensure store Training is conducted.
  16. Conduct quarterly skills audits.
  17. Gaps in store training to be arranged with external/internal training providers.
  18. Ensure registers are filed for WSP and ATR submission.
  19. Ensure acknowledgement of training is signed by trainees.
  20. Ensure refresher training is conducted on a quarterly basis on all training as per skills audits.
  21. Arrange training assessments via mystery shoppers and other methods to ensure effective training.
  22. Work with National Operations Manager to ensure that new store staff are trained prior to Store opening.
  23. Relevant SETA applications to be submitted.
  24. Submission and Completion of ATR's and WSP.
  25. Identify training and skills gaps and develop programs to fill these gaps.
  26. Creating Online Training Videos for Stores and content creation.
  27. Conduct needs assessments and training evaluations.
  28. Maintain training records and database.
  29. Advise stakeholders on training solutions.
  30. Compliance Training – ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  31. Lead the annual needs analysis process across the group, aligning learning initiatives with competency development, talent development, succession planning and identified risks.
  32. Manage the effective and efficient delivery of learning programs, ensuring high quality execution and a positive learner experience.
  33. Oversee the implementation of critical programs such as learnerships.
  34. Ensure compliance with BBBEE and Skills Development Act.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. 5 + years relevant experience.
  2. Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  3. Skills Development Facilitation Course by ETDP.
  4. Assessor Certification By ETDP.
  5. Train the Trainer Certification.
  6. OPETDP Diploma and Registered SDF.
  7. Previous experience in Retail Industry.
  8. Microsoft Office Efficiency and basic skills.
