About the Role
Our client, a leading enterprise in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee their distribution center in Upington, Northern Cape. This crucial role is responsible for managing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory control, receiving, order fulfillment, shipping, and staff management, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the supply chain and ensuring timely delivery of products. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a vital operational hub within a major FMCG organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stocktakes, and implement robust inventory control measures.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize warehouse layout, workflow, and space utilization.
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff, ensuring high levels of productivity and adherence to safety standards.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or operations, ideally within the FMCG sector.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and logistics principles.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
