About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join their quality control and research laboratory in Kimberley . This role is vital for performing a wide range of analytical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure they meet stringent quality specifications. You will utilize sophisticated analytical instrumentation and methodologies to generate accurate and reliable data. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in analytical chemistry, meticulous laboratory techniques, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy, supporting the industrial and mining sectors in the Northern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of various chemical substances using advanced instrumentation.
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment such as GC, HPLC, AAS, ICP, and FTIR.
  • Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods as required.
  • Interpret analytical data, prepare reports, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot analytical equipment and methodologies to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field, with a specialization in Analytical Chemistry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining a variety of analytical instruments.
  • Strong understanding of analytical techniques and method validation principles.
  • Excellent data interpretation and reporting skills.
