About the Role
Our client, a growing software solutions company based in Bloemfontein, Free State, is looking for a versatile Full-Stack Software Engineer to join their expanding development team. This role is perfect for a developer who enjoys working across the entire technology stack, from user interfaces to server-side logic and databases. You will be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment of innovative web applications. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust web applications, encompassing both front-end and back-end development.
- Design and implement user-friendly interfaces using modern frontend technologies.
- Build and manage scalable server-side applications and APIs.
- Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage data effectively.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established coding standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver features.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js) for frontend development.
- Experience with backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, or C#.
- Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of software development best practices, including testing and debugging.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
