About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous Construction Estimator to join their team in Queenstown . This role is crucial for providing accurate cost projections for diverse construction projects, ensuring bids are competitive and profitable. You will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates, solicit subcontractor quotes, and manage the bidding process. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical abilities, a comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods, and excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
- Solicit, review, and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentation of estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify project details and estimate assumptions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator .
- Strong understanding of construction costs, methods, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
