• Process cash, card and other approved payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Scan items, verify prices, and issue receipts and correct change.
• Process refunds and exchanges in accordance with store procedures.
• Balance the till at the start and end of each shift and report discrepancies promptly.
• Greet customers and respond professionally to queries or concerns.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and safeguard cash and payment information.
• Keep the checkout and till areas clean, organised, and fully stocked.
• Pack or wrap purchases to the required standard and assist customers with their goods where needed.
• Follow store procedures, security controls, and loss-prevention practices.
• Build product knowledge and assist with picking, transfers, and general store duties when required.
