Then we want to meet you We are looking for a sub-editor that is well versed in journalism, interviewing, writing, relationship building, and copywriting.
Reporting to the Managing Editor, this role will be responsible for ensuring we have quality content available on our website that generates growth, drives website traffic, and creates awareness of our brand using expert sources. This role is for someone who is passionate about the parenting community and sharing solutions that help to make the parenting journey easier.
Main Responsibilities:- Write original articles against set KPIs.
- Write advertorials for clients against set KPIs.
- Generate content ideas and work closely with other members in the digital and editorial team.
- Rewrite and edit archived content and ensure relevance and alignment to the brand tone and style.
- Research articles and ensure credibility.
- Generate and approve written content for various mediums and campaigns (social, ads, articles, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations and compliance.
- Ensure all that is actioned and executed is in line with the brand golden thread.
- Regular presentation of KPIs to EXCO through succinct reporting and visuals.
- Support managers, managing editor, and company heads.
- Engage with and manage key stakeholder relationships.
- Keep your fingers on the pulse of the latest trends, standards, and best practices in the world of parenting, writing, publications, and lifestyle.
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience in writing SEO-friendly content.
- Experience in writing for online publications.
- Experience working with WordPress or similar tools.
- Skilled in research and reporting.
- Conduct interviews and liaise with stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Experience in the world of pregnancy, babies, and parenting will be a plus.
- Experience working on CANVA would be beneficial, but not required.
- An expert that is always willing to learn and grow.
- Excellent English writing skills.
- Creative – able to generate ideas and think outside the box.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver projects on time in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work on multiple projects.

- An added plus would be the ability to speak, read, and write in Zulu.

Kindly note: This is a full-time, on-site position in Johannesburg. Candidate to be available to work some weekends, if the job calls for it.
