About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior AI Software Engineer to join their innovative team in Port Elizabeth. This role focuses on building and scaling robust software systems that integrate cutting-edge AI and machine learning capabilities. You will play a key role in the entire software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and maintenance of AI-powered applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer passionate about AI & Emerging Technologies to contribute to impactful projects and drive technological advancement in a collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy production-ready AI and machine learning software.
- Design and implement scalable APIs and microservices to support AI functionalities.
- Collaborate with AI researchers and data scientists to operationalize models into robust applications.
- Optimize software performance, scalability, and reliability for AI-driven systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a significant portion focused on AI/ML integration.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) and libraries.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
