Safety Officer

Inuka is partnered with a global leader in energy solutions. They are seeking a Safety Officer to support their renewable energy construction sites in the Northern Cape. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of site activities through regular oversight, training, and incident management.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct site inspections
• Attend monthly project meetings
• Provide on-site and off-site health and safety training aligned with statutory requirements
• Lead and support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action planning
• Monitor site compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and project-specific requirements
• Advise on risk mitigation and ensure adherence to best practice safety standards
• Maintain documentation, logs, and records for audits and reporting
• Conduct ad hoc site visits in the event of incidents or other critical needs

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer on renewable energy construction sites
• Working at Heights (Unit Standard 229995)
• Rescue from Heights (Unit Standard 229998)
• First Aid
• Hazardous Chemical Agents (HCA)
• Environmental awareness (advantageous)
• Electrical Safety (advantageous)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
• Familiarity with South African OHS legislation and regulatory compliance
