About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and reliable Professional Code 14 Truck Driver to join their expanding logistics team in Midrand, Gauteng. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and upholding the company's reputation for excellence. You will be an integral part of the supply chain, directly contributing to the seamless operation of our client's distribution network. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional driving skills, a strong understanding of road safety regulations, and a commitment to maintaining vehicle integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty vehicles, specifically Code 14 trucks, in a safe and professional manner.
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations within specified timeframes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, deliveries, and any incidents that may occur during transit.
- Ensure the cargo is properly secured and protected during transit to prevent damage.
Requirements
- Valid Code 14 driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- Professional driving permit (PDP) in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Code 14 truck driver, preferably with long-haul experience.
- Proven ability to handle heavy-duty vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of South African road networks and transport regulations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
