We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team at Olarm.
You will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support our growing platform. You will work at the intersection of software development, cloud operations, and infrastructure automation, ensuring that our cloud services are resilient, scalable, and secure.
This role requires expertise in cloud architecture, DevOps practices, automation, monitoring, and security. You will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to enhance system reliability and optimise performance.
- Design and implement scalable, high-availability cloud architectures to support Olarm's IoT and security platforms.
- Lead infrastructure planning and architecture for cloud services, ensuring performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Optimize networking, storage, and compute resources for high performance and reliability.
- Monitor and proactively improve system reliability, availability, and performance.
- Implement auto-scaling, load balancing, and failover strategies to handle traffic spikes and ensure uptime.
- Reduce downtime and incidents by implementing proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Conduct capacity planning and optimize resource utilization for cost efficiency.
- Required to handle any incidents after hours and on weekends whenever they occur.
- Develop automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for infrastructure, applications, and microservices.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and configuration management using Kubernetes, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient orchestration and scaling.
- Improve incident response and disaster recovery processes, implementing backup and failover strategies.
- Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and encryption.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001) through proper security and logging practices.
- Perform cloud security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Work closely with engineering teams to integrate SRE best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Provide guidance on cloud infrastructure decisions and help scale operations effectively.
- Mentor junior engineers on cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and automation strategies.
- Any other reasonable task.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps.
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, ECS, EKS, GKE).
Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPNs, VPCs, Subnets, etc.).
Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
