My client in the logistics industry is seeking a Financial Controller reporting into the Financial Manager in Umhlanga, KZN.

Responsibilities:
  1. Keep accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS.
  2. Identify financial risks, manage effectively, implement and monitor accounting procedures (IFRS).
  3. Implement internal controls and good governance framework.
  4. Liaise with Directors, prepare consolidated annual budget, half year review and forecasts.
  5. Put together accurate financial reports, submit to resident Directors, executive management team and non-resident Board of Directors.
  6. Prepare efficient, effective, and successful audit pack following all processes.
  7. Resolve audit findings, prior to commencement of next year's audit.
  8. Maintain and manage effective organisation's core finances, in transparent manner.
  9. Implement enhancing and improved accounting and reporting systems where needed.
  10. Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, submitted to relevant stakeholders, Directors, executive management team, address queries raised.
  11. Manage full accounting functions including income statement, accounts receivable, accounts payable and assets for all subsidiaries.
  12. Manage full payroll function.
  13. Manage compliance with relevant SARS registrations and requirements (monthly, bi-annually, and annually).
  14. Manage compliance with relevant CIPC registrations and filing requirements including all secretarial resolutions.
  15. Manage cash flows to meet organisational needs.
  16. Liaise and maintain existing relationship with organisation's bankers.
  17. Review all Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments.
  18. Ensure all documents are appropriately filed, and adequately labelled to ensure easy retrieval of documents.
Requirements:
  1. Qualification: B in Financial Accounting or Financial Management, completed articles with an accredited audit firm.
  2. A Membership with either SAICA, ACCA or CIMA advantageous.
  3. Minimum of 5 years work experience in core finance environment, with a minimum of 3 years management experience.
  4. Advanced MS Excel, Graphs, Pivots and V-Lookups (will be tested in interview stage).
  5. Advanced capability to do Financial Modelling for desired results and/or analysis or reporting.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and a high emotional intelligence (EQ).
  7. Strong planning and organisation skills, attention to detail.
  8. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  9. Ability to use analysis, logic, innovation, experience, skill, and knowledge to solve problems.
  10. Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  11. Ability to use discretion and deal with sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
