CORE COMPETENCIES

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

In achieving a well-managed classroom, a teacher must have the ability to bond with students and foster an environment of mutual respect in and outside the classroom. It is essential that teachers act in fairness and consistency in dealing with everyday classroom management issues.

DETAILED KNOWLEDGE OF SUBJECT

Teaching pedagogy and content knowledge is crucial for effective teaching. Teachers who are well versed and passionate in their relevant teaching field are often more effective instructors, thus it is crucial for our teachers to remain up to date on new teaching concepts as well as specific subject-area knowledge.

INNOVATIVE

Teachers who approach education innovatively are able to think creatively and cater for every student's needs. Being innovative will require a teacher to differentiate instruction to better meet the needs of students and adapt to the changes in educational regulations with ease.

LEADERSHIP

Teachers are expected to show leadership within the community. Teachers may be required when necessary to foster relationships with parents and community members. Leadership qualities by teachers should be demonstrated both in and outside of the classroom, and have the ability to nurture students to trust and value him or her.

COMMITMENT

A teacher's first priority should be to their students and learning. They tailor their teaching methods and techniques to meet the individual needs of each student. A teacher who is committed to the teaching profession can play a crucial role in the lives of their students.
