About the Role
Our client, a globally recognized technology solutions provider, is looking for a talented and dedicated Remote Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for various innovative projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery of high-quality software products. The role requires a proactive approach to project management, excellent communication skills to bridge virtual teams, and a deep understanding of agile methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple software development projects from initiation to closure in a remote setting.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, and QA engineers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives virtually.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, adapting to evolving project needs.
- Identify, track, and resolve project issues and risks proactively, escalating when necessary.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication across distributed teams using collaboration tools.
- Monitor project progress, provide regular status updates to stakeholders, and manage project documentation effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement within the development process and team performance.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, with a significant focus on software development projects.
- Proven experience managing projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Excellent proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, or similar.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and common development practices.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
