As an IT business solution company in South Africa, we are looking for the services of a Microsoft Modern Work Engineer with at least 5 years' experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Client/Server and Cloud environments. The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Environments, have experience with Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft 365 incl. Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Azure and be competent and efficient with implementations, remote support, providing solutions and show high level proficiency in their troubleshooting capabilities.

About The Role

You will be part of an IT Support Team that serves customers based in South Africa. Our support team is currently based in Cape Town and our customers represent a variety of businesses, which means you will encounter a wide range of tasks, from simple to complex tasks. You will also be a part of the Microsoft Project Delivery Team, handling tasks, implementations, and projects.

Your role will be within the Support team, covering South Africa based in Cape Town. Our workplace is known for its friendly and supportive atmosphere. Requirements

Mandatory requirements for this role are:

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Employment Type: Permanent, Office-Based

Comfortably fluent in English

Minimum of 5 Years' Experience Providing IT Support and Project deployments

Matric certificate (Grade 12) at Higher or Standard grade

ITIL Foundation Certification

MS-900, MS-700, MD-102, SC-900, and AZ-900 Certifications

Optional, but beneficial: AZ-104 with AZ-800+AZ801, AZ-700 Certifications

In addition, these qualities will be considered desirable:

Managed Service Provider Experience in a technical support role

Any additional current and valid certifications in M365 and Microsoft Azure

Experience of using the following:

  • RMM Solutions

  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Microsoft Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft SharePoint

  • Microsoft Teams, Enterprise Voice, devices and Room Systems
  • Azure and Related Services
  • Intune and Modern Endpoint Management

Microsoft Regulatory compliance with Microsoft Purview

  • Active Directory, Exchange and Tenant to Tenant Migrations
  • Freshservice IT Helpdesk
  • Backup technologies

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be a team player.
  • Be comfortable working in a fully remote and distributed team environment.
  • Be comfortable working on tickets allocated to you with self-motivation.
  • Be polite and professional in answering or making phone calls, emails, or tickets.
  • Be competent in using and organising an online ticketing system.
  • Have sound interpersonal and liaison skills.
  • Have an ability to function well under pressure.
  • Have an ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation, internally and externally.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Be capable of writing and maintaining documentation and support materials.

We will expect that the successful candidate will:

  • Have strong client-facing IT implementations and support experience, including knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Cloud Services.
  • Have strong experience of Microsoft Modern Workplace implementations and support including Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender and Purview.
  • Have strong implementations and support experience of Microsoft Azure.
  • Have strong experience in PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Have a good understanding of backup & recovery systems and technologies.
  • Have a good understanding of networking and network security solutions.
  • Have a good understanding of how to operate an ITSM tool.
  • Instinctively adapt and respond positively to changes in business requirements.
  • Diligently follow up issues with clients and ensure end results are to the client's satisfaction.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
