Senior Sales Consultant

is looking for an experienced Senior Sales Consultant to join their team. The role involves the identification and mapping of Targeted Accounts and New Business Development through the implementation of the Target Account Plans for new and existing opportunities.
Macdonald Steel requires the individual to maximize business through up-selling and cross-selling of all products offered within the steel categories and ensure there is a solid 6-8 week visit cycle in place with new and existing customers.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Maximize And Measure Sales Performance
- Position the value proposition based on customer and consumer needs
- Gain commitment through constructive selling and negotiation
- Use performance dashboards to identify execution focus areas
- Deliver product availability/ revenue targets
- Produce by Increasing Sales to Existing Accounts
- Increase Macdonald Steel's footprint by selling new products into new verticals
- Grow Existing base of customers by opening New Accounts for Macdonald Steel
- Customer Relationship Management
- Effective Customer Onboarding
- Build and sustain mutually beneficial relationships
- Engage with key decision makers, merchant staff, consumers and shoppers
- Use market insights to influence customer behaviour
- Planning
- Manage the territory and identify opportunities
- Joint business planning and annual planning
- Sales planning; Track and evaluate results
- Understand insights from multiple data sources
- Market data and information-based decisions
- Business and Sales Strategy
- New Business Development
- Understand the business strategy and the value chain
- Understand and interpret financial information
- Use commercial drivers to deliver winning solutions
- Manage expenditure against the budget and manage forecast
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post Matric qualification or Graduate from an accredited college
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5-10 years Sales experience in the Steel Industry is desired
- 10 Years External Sales Experience Non Negotiable
- Ability to meet financial targets and goals
- Strong Understanding and Utilization of All Microsoft Packages
- Proven Ability to meet targets and call on new customers and business verticals
- Proven Ability to canvass new markets and areas
- Own Vehicle
- Ability to Travel and Grow Areas
- Results driven and customer focused
