About the Role
Our client, a leading non-profit organization focused on improving public health outcomes, is seeking a dedicated Health Program Coordinator for its initiatives in Nelspruit and surrounding areas within Mpumalanga. This role is central to the planning, execution, and monitoring of health-related programs designed to serve vulnerable populations. The coordinator will work closely with healthcare providers, community health workers, and local health authorities to ensure effective delivery of services, health education, and preventative care. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned health programs in the Mpumalanga region.
- Coordinate program activities, including outreach, health screenings, and educational workshops.
- Manage program budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Build and maintain relationships with healthcare facilities, community leaders, and relevant government agencies.
- Monitor program implementation, collect data, and prepare reports on progress, outcomes, and challenges.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and organizational policies.
- Supervise and support program staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and effective team.
- Identify health needs and gaps in the community and propose program adjustments or new initiatives.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in health program management or coordination, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Strong understanding of public health principles and healthcare systems in South Africa.
- Experience working with community health workers and diverse populations in Mpumalanga.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with health information systems is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team in Nelspruit.
