Our client is looking for a Business Developer (Recruitment) for their UK-based company. They are an IT recruitment company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Growth and Strategy Development:
    Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth within the IT recruitment sector.
    Identify new business opportunities, markets, and potential clients in the IT industry.
    Continuously assess market trends and industry changes to identify emerging opportunities for the company.
  2. Client Relationship Management:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in IT companies.
    Act as the main point of contact for new and existing clients, ensuring excellent communication and a high level of service.
    Understand client needs and work with internal teams to deliver tailored recruitment solutions.
  3. Lead Generation and Networking:
    Generate new leads and create a pipeline of business opportunities.
    Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company's client base.
    Utilize digital channels (LinkedIn, social media, email campaigns, etc.) to engage and connect with potential clients.
  4. Negotiation and Deal Closing:
    Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
    Work closely with the senior leadership team to close new deals and achieve revenue targets.
    Develop proposals, presentations, and contracts that align with the clients' needs and company offerings.
  5. Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
    Conduct regular market research to understand current trends in IT recruitment and adjust strategies accordingly.
    Monitor competitor activity and report on industry best practices to stay ahead of the competition.
  6. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    Work closely with recruitment consultants and other internal teams to ensure client needs are met and service delivery is efficient.
    Provide feedback to the recruitment team on client expectations, industry trends, and candidate preferences.
    Assist in identifying skill gaps or talent shortages within the clients' organization, and offer solutions.
    Meet or exceed sales targets set by the company for client acquisition and revenue generation.
    Track and report on progress toward sales goals, providing regular updates to senior management.
  7. Brand Development and Marketing Support:
    Promote the company's brand and services through various channels to increase visibility in the IT recruitment market.
    Support marketing efforts by providing insights into client requirements and market demands.
    Develop content (blogs, case studies, whitepapers) for thought leadership and to build credibility.
  8. Customer Retention and Service Excellence:
    Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by proactively addressing client needs and resolving any issues that arise.
    Regularly check in with clients to ensure that their requirements are being met and explore opportunities for ongoing business.
  9. Reporting and Analytics:
    Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities.
    Utilize CRM tools to track lead generation, client interactions, and pipeline progress.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in business development, ideally within the IT recruitment industry or related fields.
  2. Strong knowledge of IT industry trends, technologies, and market dynamics.
  3. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  6. Experience with CRM tools and sales software.
  7. Results-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting or exceeding targets.

Must haves:

  1. Previous experience in IT / Tech recruitment (must have).
  2. Strong background in Business Development / winning accounts / cold development within recruitment (not an account manager; we already have someone looking after existing accounts).
