Junior Architectural Technologist

An exciting opportunity exists for a Junior Architectural Technologist to work alongside our in-house Architect on projects led by our Founder and world-renowned Hotelier and Interior Designer, Liz Biden.

This six-month contract will see the successful candidate intricately involved in a number of new build and renovation projects, including, but not limited to:

  1. Creating and editing drawing packs in Revit.
  2. Assisting with measuring up as required.
  3. Assisting at site meetings and photographing progress on projects.
  4. Assisting with collating documents required for planning permission and similar approvals.
  5. Liaising with the Design team constantly.
  6. Liaising with clients to discuss their needs and those of the users of a proposed building.
  7. Assisting with updating and collating design information for each project and keeping it up to date.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Minimum requirement of BAS (Bachelor of Architectural Studies) or a Diploma in Architectural Technology.
  2. 0-3 years of experience.
  3. Competent in technical detailing and documentation.
  4. Proficiency in Excel is advantageous.
  5. Basic understanding of local authority submissions.
  6. You must be available to work full-time for a six-month period.
  7. You must be able to travel and work irregular hours.
  8. You must have a driver's license.
  9. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  10. Team player with a sense of urgency and a positive attitude.

It is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio.

South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
