Overview

We are currently on the lookout for a Software Quality Engineer to join our awesome Enhance team. This team is focused on empowering Studios to foster collaborative thinking to further drive studio quality maturity. By closing the loop and leveraging quality frameworks, we help our partnered game studios to grow organically and reach a faster time to market for their current and future portfolio of games.

Responsibilities

As an SQE for Enhance, your focus will be to review and implement while working on complex projects. You are expected to be involved in activities ranging from test preparation and planning, support the junior members in the team as well as review and guide members on their test coverage. You are also expected to help with test completion review and improvement, as well as help refine the current testing baseline and knowledge base of the department. You will be conducting test execution, preparing software test environments as well as troubleshooting simple to medium projects. They need to detect and track defects and have appropriate stakeholder management while still inspiring their customers' confidence through quality execution, delivery, and experience.

  1. Test Preparation and Planning
    • Establish and train teams on the optimal methods for effort estimation and submit final estimations for large complex projects to enable effective planning and prioritisation.
    • Planning required for known risks and expected to anticipate new risks and edge scenarios.
    • Test planning should be completed within the allocated timeframe and roadblocks proactively resolved. Actively reviewing and researching new test strategies.
    • Identify key dependencies and understand deployment dates, understanding the scope of changes to the extent that scope of testing is done proficiently and effectively.
  2. Test Completion, Review and Improvement
    • Expected to review completion activities including test artifacts to define and implement project handover tasks. Also expected to improve test strategy by utilizing previous experience.
    • To help refine the Test cases with regular reviews based on the knowledge gained during the course of testing.
  3. Test Execution
    • Expected to analyze test execution results and activities to implement and improve overall test execution processes, remove/escalate potential issues that are causing roadblocks.
  4. Prepared Software and Test Environment
    • Expected to set up and troubleshoot environment issues for simple and medium projects and will be guided for complex projects.
    • Must be able to escalate software and environmental issues and follow through with resolution.
    • Also ensures identified issues solutions are communicated.
  5. Detected & Tracked Defects
    • Expected to evaluate defect reports and drive latent defect prevention, incorporating industry principles of software testing.
  6. Stakeholder Management
    • Stakeholder management aligned with program focus and influence.
    • Ability to inspire customer confidence through professional presence, self-confidence, execution, delivery, and experience.
  7. Adheres and Optimises Standards and Processes
    • Expected to implement new standards and processes.
  8. Leadership
    • Dynamically adapts to situational change and aligns the team with regards to objectives whilst implementing innovation, knowledge share, and skill growth applied holistically across all competencies within proficiency level.
    • Pro-actively shares knowledge to benefit the team in a concise manner and is able to verify understanding.
  9. Coaching and Mentoring
    • Provides support and mutually constructs plans to develop others both behaviorally and technically through defined, measurable output.
  10. Test Consulting
    • Providing training and mentorship to Studio testing teams which will include test strategy and test approach using existing data.
  11. Live Testing
    • Look at optimizations for the live testing process and can train on the subject.
  12. Load and Performance Testing
    • Can execute tests independently with minimum/no assistance.
Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • We are looking for someone with at least 4 years of relevant technical testing experience.
  • Must have a very good understanding of the SDLC.
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills are required.
  • Automation background is a very big plus.
  • Experience in creating unit tests is also a very big advantage.
