JOB DESCRIPTION – EXTERNAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven External Sales Representative to join our team in the wholesale cleaning equipment industry. This role requires an experienced sales professional to develop new business, maintain strong customer relationships, and drive sales growth. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, manage customer accounts effectively, and ensure the company's products are well-represented in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Sales & Business Development
    • Service existing accounts and establish new accounts by planning and organizing a structured sales schedule.
    • Conduct client visits, presentations, and product demonstrations to promote our extensive range of cleaning equipment and consumables.
    • Expand customer accounts by increasing the variety of products they purchase.
    • Set clear, written goals for each customer call and update these in the CRM system (SmartEdge).
    • Meet and exceed sales targets through strategic planning and effective client management.
    • Maintain a professional and high-standard company image at all times.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to maximize sales opportunities.
    • Calculate and provide special pricing for customers in line with agreed profit margins.
  2. Customer Service
    • Conduct regular product awareness training for customers and internal sales teams.
    • Assist with urgent customer deliveries if required.
    • Organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and ensure efficient follow-ups with clients.
    • Handle customer service or quality-related complaints and escalate them to the branch manager and national imports buyer.
    • Assist front-office staff with walk-in customer inquiries when needed.
  3. Administration
    • Work closely with internal teams, including warehouse, finance, and customer support, to ensure smooth operations.
    • Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) to manage reports, proposals, presentations, and client communication.
    • Ensure that all clients have up-to-date pricing structures.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing of customer quotations, tenders, and related documents.
    • Follow up on customer quotations and ensure they are converted into sales.
    • Update and manage sales budgets per customer, ensuring monthly sales targets are met.
    • Assist in setting regional standard price lists when pricing changes occur.
    • Follow up on all unpaid debtors and ensure clients are keeping within the payment terms.
