Job Summary :

This position requires a technically focused, detail orientated team player who can operate under pressure to carry out all day-to-day maintenance of the Lodge.

Organisational Positioning :

  • Department: Maintenance
  • Reporting to: Assistant Maintenance & Grounds Manager
  • Location: Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve and Wellness Retreat

Minimum Experience or Qualification :

  • Grade 12.
  • At least 2 years' experience as a handyman / Maintenance Attendant
  • Basic electrical, carpentry and painting experience
  • Previous painting experience advantageous
  • Previous work in a Hotel / Lodge environment advantageous
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts
  • Presentable and well-mannered
  • Good command of the English language

Key Performance Objectives :

  • To perform general maintenance duties and checks in and around the Lodge as per the Maintenance plan of the Lodge and as per the décor standards set out by the owners.
  • To ensure that all paint and consumables are used in an efficient manner, keeping wastage to a minimum in accordance with Lodge's SOPs.
  • To maintain all areas in a clean, tidy and neat manner, presentable to guests.
  • When needed, to assist with general maintenance in and around the Lodge including tiling and plastering.

Management reserves the right to use additional/relevant information as criteria for short-listing.
