In short, we manage local and international productions, pulling together the best crews to deliver top quality content – from TVCs and documentary series to photography and animations.

Prodigious services all the agencies within the Publicis Groupe, as well as our own clients, with our own fully integrated content production team - meaning we work from concept, all the way through to rollout, with international brands across the African continent, extending into the EMENA zone.

We have a fully equipped photographic and film studio, with three newly built studio kitchens in our agency.

Overview

As a Midweight Creative, you will help lead our passionate, multi-talented studio, guiding more junior members to deliver, and encourage exceptional, integrated concepts that exceed client briefs and expectations.

A Mid Copywriter is an important contact point in our agency, so they can expect to be craft-led, strategically driven, media agnostic, agile and consistently conceptual, with a desire to transform brands by creating exceptional, intuitive, and human-centred products and experiences.

You will be tuned into all aspects of South African popular culture and the platforms and media it plays in, as well as have a strong point of view on what it takes to win in this space, with the experience to back it up.

Exceptional writing ability is paramount.

A good command of at least 1 vernacular language would be beneficial.

Responsibilities
  1. Be part of the strategic process and interrogate the brief
  2. Manage the creative process on projects
  3. Work with other disciplines (Strategists, Developers, Media, Accounts, etc) to ensure cohesive team integration, and alignment with broader business objectives
  4. Be a champion for innovative media solutions on every brief
  5. Play an active role in campaign planning
  6. Participate in pitches for new business
  7. Define the tone of overall campaigns
  8. Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  9. Generate ideas and sell them into clients and other members of the team
  10. Articulate ideas clearly
  11. Consistently produce creative elements against a deliverables list
  12. Lead brainstorms & conceptualisation
  13. Lead the craft of an idea
  14. Compile presentations for clients
  15. Attend client briefings & present to clients
  16. Attend recordings & film shoots
  17. Source inspirational material and references of how to push creativity
  18. Good understanding of influencer, mobile, podcast, out-of-home, guerrilla, activations and direct marketing
  19. Great time management
  20. Ability to work under pressure & meet tight deadlines
  21. Adept problem-solving skills
  22. Strong communication skills with ability to provide rationales for creative choices made
  23. Strong presentation skills
  24. In-depth working knowledge of existing and emerging technologies & platforms
  25. A strong understanding of the strategic processes
  26. Able to work with team members & delegate effectively
  27. Understand the client's business requirements, and understand how our services should be applied to solve business problems
  28. Agility is key
  29. Storytelling is imperative.
Operational KPI'S
  1. Highly conceptual individual (Must show a minimum of 2 projects)
  2. Track record of leading the conceptualisation and execution of campaigns (Show minimum of 4 examples)
  3. Won at international and / or local awards (i.e. Must show examples of problem solving)
  4. Must be able to work on one sizable and one medium size project at any one time.
  5. Have the ability to attend every review on a project with new 3 ideas.

  1. 4 years + agency experience
