  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is essential for the role.
  • Previous experience working within a Financial Manager role in the manufacturing industry is essential.
  • A solid understanding of costing experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Previous management experience managing a finance team is preferred for the role.
  • The successful candidate must have knowledge, exposure, and experience with accounting processing and financial reporting systems.
  • Previous experience working on Pastel Partner is preferred.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work on their own initiative and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent analytical ability, interpersonal skills, and strong data management skills are required.
  • Must have extensive experience regarding budgeting and cash flow management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Taking full ownership of all financial accounting, financial management, and financial reporting functions within the company.
  • Overseeing overall HR and payroll functions for the company.
  • Producing financial reports, managing cash flow, and developing strategies to achieve the company's long-term financial goals.
  • Establishing and overseeing budgeting preparation, management, and monitoring processes.
  • Preparing year-end audit packs and liaising with auditors.
  • Preparing management and board packs and attending senior management meetings.
  • Performing financial analysis, reporting, and management activities.
  • Ensuring that financial reports are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Monitoring and managing all expenses within the allotted budget. Reviewing annual budgets and recommending any changes if needed.
  • Establishing key financial strategies to enhance business profitability.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management, and accounting in accordance with IFRS and SARS.
  • Ensuring appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and managing the process for financial and BEE audits.
  • Improving and implementing automated reporting systems to streamline financial reporting processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Overseeing all regulatory compliance, i.e., income TAX, VAT, CIPC, BEE, etc.
  • Reviewing project performance and performing budget vs. actual comparatives.
