Hospitality and Tourism Regional Sales Manager

Purpose of the Role:
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for building, maintaining, and nurturing relationships across various levels to achieve sales targets and expand the client base. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, strong sales administration capabilities, and a deep understanding of the inbound travel sales network. The successful candidate will be required to travel locally, and regionally to engage with clients, represent the company at travel shows, and conduct direct sales meetings and presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key and growing accounts to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term growth.
- Identify and build strategic relationships with new clients.
- Represent the brand at industry sales events and trade shows.
- Conduct product training on the portfolio and destination.
- Coordinate site inspections for inbound tour operators and agents and follow up post-visit.
- Manage ongoing and ad-hoc sales administration tasks, including rate requests, CRM database management, sales reporting, and coordinating sales events.
- Support the reservations team by resolving trade-related booking queries.
- Proactively identify low-demand periods and take necessary actions.
- Gather and report on market intelligence to understand the shifts and changes within the industry.
- Work alongside the International Sales Manager to reach key account targets in their regions.
- Provide regular feedback and prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years' experience in inbound sales.
- Understanding of the sales distribution chain.
- Previous experience in a hotel sales role.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Willingness to travel locally, and regionally, as required.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Southern Africa.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation skills, and business acumen.
