Curriculum Lead : Computer Applications Technology

What are we looking for?
  1. Honours / Masters degree or other postgraduate qualification in content / curriculum development.
  2. SACE registration
  3. IEB and CAPS experience
  4. Subject Head experience 3 to 5 years
The responsibilities are:
  1. Management, planning and design of the overall curriculum development.
  2. Planning and strategizing for the future development and growth of the subject area.
  3. Development of the specific model and assistance in problem solving in new product development.
  4. Assessing requirements for curriculum development.
  5. Reviewing of developed materials, assessing quality, and providing feedback.
  6. Assessing alignment to e-learning (relevant) pathways.
  7. Gathering of feedback on materials from schools and learners as the efficacy of the materials.
  8. Designing, developing, and implementing educator training and relevant training that may impact on curriculum delivery.
  9. Coordinating and collaboratively managing communities of practice within relevant subject / phase area to strengthen the subject offering / best practice across all our brands.
  10. Curriculum Design and Development: Curate, design, create and develop subject content and learning materials (position specific).
  11. Design, develop and evaluate learning paths and programmes.
  12. This includes setting of Assessments across examination bodies.
  13. Design of e-learning content and synchronous learning resources and activities for relevant subjects across the e-learning platform (position specific).
  14. Ensure that planning of assessments is aligned to all Curro offerings.
  15. Design and implement moderation instruments to ensure standardisation across the brands.
  16. Development and innovation of subject curricula offered by Curro.
  17. Develop and / or coordinate learning support material for use in the specific Curro brand.
  18. Collaborate with service providers to support curriculum delivery.
  19. Work across different projects that are implemented as required in cooperation with other functions within the broader curriculum support structures as directed by the Curriculum Heads.
  20. Participate in research projects that are prioritized by the specific brand offering.
  21. Analyse data from administrative and learning management systems.
  22. Ongoing Professional Development (PD) to remain on the cutting edge of changes in portfolio.
  23. Define requirements for the commissioning of relevant support equipment to implement course.
Monitoring and Evaluation
  1. Accountable to the Curriculum Head to collect, analyse and use data to inform, monitor and evaluate planning, pedagogical practices, and interventions.
  2. Identify positive and challenging trends in the schools' academic results and engage with schools on how to address the challenges effectively.
  3. Monitor the reports from subject / phase specialists at schools, engage and give feedback on relevant matters via virtual meeting or during / following school visits.
  4. Monitoring the implementation of the Curro academic policies and supporting documentation.
  5. Provide feedback to curriculum heads and curriculum executive on the implementation of policies and academic results as and if required.
  6. Focus on moderation especially, if schools require assistance, or input and evaluate where there may be gaps.
  7. Visit schools as required and conduct controls to ensure that curriculum is followed at schools compliance, including quality assurance.
  8. Accountable to the Curriculum Head in supporting schools with compliance to various standardization and regulatory bodies (i.e., NSC and IEB, and therefore, UMALUSI).
  9. Report on compliance across subjects.
  10. Provide input to schools to maintain accreditation.
