DRIVER CODE 8 – KEMPTON PARK + EAST RAND

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of a Driver Code 08 for their Kempton Park & East Rand branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient delivery and collection of stock to customers.

Your areas of responsibility:

  1. Complete vehicle inspection sheet and ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy before embarking on a journey.
  2. Report any defects or accidents of the vehicle to the branch manager immediately.
  3. Navigate each destination on schedule to determine the most expedient trip.
  4. Load stock according to the log sheet together with the dispatch clerk and ensure that stock corresponds to the delivery note.
  5. Submit all relevant delivery administration and reports of each delivery for an accurate record of what has been completed.
  6. Obtain clients' and customers' signatures as an acknowledgment of having received the delivered goods.
  7. Effectively communicate with clients and customers to resolve complaints.
  8. Ensure that the delivery vehicle is always clean.
  9. Keep record and advise the operations manager when the vehicle is due for service.
  10. Report all delivery-related problems to the Branch Manager.
  11. Maintain compliance with all safety and security regulations.

Qualifications we are looking for:

  1. A valid grade 12 certificate is a MUST.
  2. A valid Code 08 drivers' licence is a MUST.
  3. Minimum 3 years driving experience.
  4. Familiar with GPS technology devices.
  5. Knowledge of warehouse processes.
  6. Knowledge of relative safety standards and protective clothing.
