Job Purpose

To effectively oversee, manage and control the Hub's pallets thereby minimizing palletholding days and costs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure accurate pallet control at depots.
2. Consolidate weekly recon reports from the depot for management to ensure accountability and transparency.
3. Compile and send a detailed recon to HOD's twice a week.
4. Prepare Hub Daily Pallet Risk Report (OCD).
5. Manage billing administration.
6. Oversee Exchange Management System (EMS/CRC).
7. Day-to-day capturing of EMS (non-Chep pallets) onto the SAP system by raising a Sales Order.
8. Complete EMS reconciliation (SAP vs CHEP) to ensure accuracy of pallets to be collected from various customers.
9. Document & process control of GRV's.
10. Verify & sign off pallet slips from GRV's daily.
11. Control EDI and verify pallet slips against EDI file.
12. Report on pallet variances.
13. Maintain yard control and ensure housekeeping on pallets.
14. Liaise with daily Production planners and production team regarding pallets / crates.

External Planning

1. Daily liaison with Unitrans on lowbed pallet truck schedule.
2. Notification planning on collection with the plant & warehouse for loading / offloading.
3. Track all delays and forward planning.
4. Report risk factors to the Logistics Manager (LM).
5. Manage daily counts and report discrepancies to the LM.
6. Highlight risks to LM regarding low stock.
7. Recordable counts logged weekly in My CHEP system.
8. Conduct quarterly audited counts.

Minimum Requirements

1. Matric
2. Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Preferably in Finance) - advantageous
3. Minimum of 3-5 years experience with Chep portfolio system and SAP - advantageous
4. Experience within an FMCG environment would be advantageous.
5. Excel Advanced
