About the Role
Our client, a significant operator in the South African Oil & Gas sector , is seeking a dedicated Reservoir Engineer to join their team in Richards Bay . This role is focused on maximizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields through advanced reservoir management and production optimization strategies. You will analyze reservoir performance, develop field development plans, and implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques. The position demands a strong analytical mind, expertise in reservoir simulation, and a deep understanding of subsurface complexities in petroleum fields .
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze reservoir performance data, including production rates, pressures, and fluid properties.
- Develop and calibrate reservoir simulation models to predict future production and evaluate development scenarios.
- Design and implement Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects to improve recovery factors.
- Prepare field development plans and economic evaluations for new projects and infill drilling campaigns.
- Monitor production performance and recommend operational adjustments to optimize recovery.
- Collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to define reservoir strategy.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG) and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid flow in porous media, and reservoir characterization.
- Experience with EOR techniques and economic modeling is highly desirable.
- Excellent technical communication and presentation skills.
