Financial Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accounts, forecasts, budgets, and financial control activities in accordance with established accounting practices. Key responsibilities include managing general ledger and subordinate ledgers, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
Automotive/Manufacturing experience will be highly beneficial.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Communication, Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Responsible for statutory accounting and for compliance with local legislation.
  2. Manages the Finance function, with AR, AP and FP&A tasks being outsourced in shared services center.
  3. Process bank payments.
  4. Perform cost accounting (including participating to the inventory counts).
  5. Prepare and submit financials and fiscal returns.
  6. Performs the monthly / annual financial closing.
  7. 3rd parties' confirmations.
  8. In charge of financial and fiscal audits.
  9. Ensure subordinate ledgers reconcile with the general ledger.
  10. Ensure all Balance Sheet reconciliations are complete and accurate with support documentation.
  11. Ensure all Tax returns are prepared accurately & reviewed then submitted on time.

2. Policies, procedures, regulations:
  1. To comply with local legislation and accounting standards.

3. Standardisation, responsibility and continuous improvement of the management system:
  1. Apply 7 Quality Basics rules.
  2. Familiarise with the clients Health, Safety & Quality Policy statement.
  3. Identify improvement opportunities.
  4. Influence best practice and standardization across the company's processes and projects.
  5. Adhere to Corrective and Preventive actions implemented and report on effectiveness and/or progress.
  6. Fully cooperate with Business Management System internal and external Auditor during process, product and systems audits.
  7. Promote the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking.

4. Health, security, environment, emergency situations - individual responsibilities:
  1. Assisting in the provision of a safe working environment for all employees in accordance with the regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 by:
  2. Contributing to the effectiveness & efficiency of the Safety and Environmental Management System.
  3. Taking reasonable care for your own and others' workplace health & safety.
  4. Responding to actual emergency situations.
  5. Reporting all workplace hazards, incidents, and near misses.
  6. Adhering to all HSE policies and procedures.
  7. Participating in the Safety Management Program when required, including regular training/toolbox talks.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Qualified Accountant/BCom.
  2. Accounting/BCom Honours preferably.
  3. Syteline/Infor CloudSuite (ERP Software) (Highly beneficial).

Related Minimum Experience:
  1. Min. 5 years of accounting experience.
  2. Min. 3 years of post-article experience.
