The Azure Infrastructure Consultant will be challenged with access to a range of projects at clients across industries, working with other experienced technologists whose single pursuit is optimal value creation for our customers through the construction of peerless solutions. This dynamic self-starting individual will be schooled in the best practices accumulated through successful delivery on hundreds of software development assignments. You would have the opportunity to be involved with both consulting projects and internal projects.

KNOWLEDGE

  • The Senior Azure Infrastructure Consultant's responsibilities are management of Azure Infrastructure related duties for DVT and our Customers and internal DVT customers.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure and related services.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and related Services.
  • Full understanding of the Microsoft Solutions Suite including solutions such as, but not limited to, SharePoint, Dynamics, Azure and others.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Licensing with relation to Active Directory and related Services, M365 and related solutions, for the purpose of being able to implement and consult in these areas.
  • Cloud Strategy Consulting with regards to Infrastructure planning and design.
  • Deep level understanding of Azure DevOps principles and practices.
  • Leading the design and implementation of Azure infrastructure solutions for clients, ensuring that they are secure, scalable, and efficient.
  • Developing technical architecture and infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and deployment plans.
  • Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into technical requirements for the infrastructure solution.
  • Managing the infrastructure implementation process, including managing project timelines, infrastructure costs, and resources, and ensuring that the implementation is delivered on-time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to team members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.
  • Conducting technical reviews and quality assurance of infrastructure implementations to ensure they meet the necessary standards and specifications.
  • Staying up to date with the latest Azure infrastructure trends, tools, and technologies, and sharing this knowledge with team members and clients.
  • Participating in pre-sales activities, including proposal development and client presentations, to win new business and expand existing relationships.
  • Deep understanding of, and ability to effectively compile both Bicep and Terraform scripts.

SKILLS

  • Expertise in Azure cloud services, including Azure Platform Services, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure design patterns and best practices, including security, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on-time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure components such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience on Azure Site Recovery, Azure Monitor, Azure Automation, Azure Backup and Recovery.
  • Knowledge and experience in automation technologies like Terraform and Bicep.
  • Strong Scripting Tools skills in PowerShell and Azure CLI, and other scripting languages.
  • System design and analysis.
  • Broader, multi-platform experience in AWS and/or GCP would be advantageous.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Relevant Degree or Technical Qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in managing and maintaining Azure Infrastructure, including experience in leading a team of infrastructure consultants.
  • Complete at least two relevant certification / skills training annually.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Administrator Associate would be preferred.
  • Partake in Technology Forums within DVT.
  • Following and contributing to the improvement of projects and implementations across the organization and within our customer's environments.
  • Provide support to Internal projects relating to Azure and Licensing.
  • Deliver Consulting Services to DVT's customers, either on a short-term or long-term basis, depending on the requirements of the project.
  • Configure, optimise and Azure Infrastructure and related solutions.
  • Conduct system audits and recommendations.
  • Identify and facilitate business opportunities, with specific involvement in the technical presale of potential projects.
