As a Project Engineer, you would be responsible for the following:

  1. Depots, Service Stations and Commercial Customer Installations – construction and engineering.
  2. Conduct project feasibility studies for engineering and construction projects; preparing documentation, drawings and recommendations for execution of projects.
  3. Submit and obtain national and local authorities approvals and prepare and obtain approval for MOC documentation.
  4. Guide the draughtsman or consultants in preparation of the construction drawings.
  5. Participate in the negotiation of equipment supply and engineering contracts with the service providers, in collaboration with the purchasing division.
  6. Plan, organise, control and execute field construction activities, within given time and budget.
  7. Be responsible for incorporation of local legislation requirements, Group standards and best practices for all engineering and construction projects.
  8. Effectively monitor and evaluate variations associated with changes in project scope and subsequent cost changes.
  9. Provide regular updates to Technical Manager regarding the projects and explanations on any delays.
  10. Ensure proper management of all project documentation, preparation of monthly expenditure reports, posting of the assets under construction to asset register, and control of all legal, municipal and EIA approvals to facilitate legal and safety compliance of all projects.
  11. Ensure compliance with regulations as well as the safety of people and properties on sites.
  12. Carry out urgent operations such as the replacement of defective equipment, attending to safety issues, and administration-related requests.
  13. Regularly check the assets, especially by way of a full scope Annual Technical Visit with the customer representative, and develop recommendations and action plans according to Customer strategy.
  14. Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out as per set schedules.
  15. Conduct random audits and quality inspections of maintenance work to ensure compliance with standards.
  16. Ensure that maintenance contracts are implemented in line with the SLA agreements.
  17. Ensure that contractors adhere to the company HSEQ requirements.
  18. Handle maintenance work that falls outside of the general contracts (i.e. NEMO).
  19. Anticipate investments for the replacement of obsolete equipment to increase availability and reduce operational and maintenance costs.
  20. Carry out works for safety, risk reduction, and compliance with regulations.
  21. Advise dealers (clients) on technical and regulatory obligations, estimating costs to upgrade equipment and installations for contract renewal.
  22. Manage delegated budget, launch orders, and validate payment of invoices according to purchasing rules.
  23. Maintain good customer relations internally & externally.
  24. Participate in asset sales, manage dismantling of sites in relation with the HSEQ department, General Trade and Mining divisions for remediation.
  25. Update technical and asset data (Synoptics, drawings, and inventories).
  26. Analyse audit reports conducted by HSEQ and take corrective action, in conjunction with business owners to close findings.
  27. Inform and train site operators on good utilization of equipment and housekeeping.
  28. Support Contracts Manager in Business Performance Reviews.
  29. Manage the AUC process.

HSSE:

  1. Effectively manage and minimise HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guidelines and legal requirements.
  2. Promotion of a safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies.
  3. Identification & enforcement of HSE competency requirements within area of responsibility.

As a Project Engineer, you would possess the following:

  1. Qualification: B.Sc. or B.Tech – electrical, mechanical, civil engineering or relevant experience.
  2. Minimum years' experience: 3 to 7 years in the relevant fields.
  3. Experience in project management for engineering from beginning to end.
  4. Technical experience regarding understanding and applying technical know-how.
  5. High level of autonomy and problem-solving skills.
  6. Real capability to manage workload and efficiency in the work done.
  7. Proactive and available at any time.
  8. Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  9. Ability to work within a team made of customers, purchasers, and head-office organizations.
  10. English is the working language.
