Minimum requirements :

1. BCom (Hons) or equivalent or CIPS level 6.
2. 6 years Minimum experience in Procurement.
3. Experience within the mining industry (advantageous)

Duties and responsibilities :

1. Integrate and co-ordinate category specific procurement management process.
2. Conducting category-specific value chain analysis to determine optimal configuration of suppliers to meet commercial, technical, quality and operational objectives.
3. Identify key improvement areas on an ongoing basis and implement in order to maximise savings.
4. Prepare and present monthly / weekly reports and in so doing identify trends and potential cost savings.
5. Monitor category spend against budget.
6. Responsible for continuous improvement within the commodity sourcing capacity.
7. Tracking and reporting TCO benefits derived from the value opportunities.
8. Develop and maintain appropriate commodity specific procurement sourcing strategies.
9. Guiding alignment with FA procurement policy, legal requirements and contracting strategies.
10. Align the sourcing strategy with technical, commercial and demand management levers.
11. Guiding and directing Divisional specific category sourcing.
12. Directing the delivery of quantifiable savings proportionate to the commodity spend.
13. Monitor alignment with negotiated and contractual agreements.
14. Identify best suppliers based on business requirements.
15. Define and manage key supplier relationships.
16. Negotiate the best prices and contract / purchasing terms with key suppliers.
17. Resolve supplier issues.
18. Provide category-specific reporting.
19. Develop and manage supplier relations with suppliers for assigned commodities.
20. Managing problem identification, diagnosis and resolution, and issue escalation and resolution with suppliers.
21. Leading supplier clarification meetings during bid process for assigned commodities.
22. Analysing B-BBEE opportunities across assigned commodities.
23. Managing the implementation of appropriate supplier development opportunities.
24. Developing the capabilities of the team members by establishing and monitoring individual performance.
25. Directing the effective working relationships and establishing synergy with other teams.
26. Managing the effective performance and development of all reporting staff.
27. Mentoring and coaching staff where required.
28. Influencing and presenting of KPI reports at appropriate forums.
29. Advising on sourcing strategies and providing expertise and knowledge transfer to relevant teams.
30. Assist in growth and development of team members.
