About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Insurance Risk Manager to lead their risk management initiatives in Sandton, Gauteng . This senior role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating a wide range of risks that could impact the company's financial health and operational stability. You will develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks, working closely with various departments to embed a strong risk-aware culture. This is a critical leadership position for professionals passionate about proactive risk mitigation and strategic planning within the vibrant business hub of Sandton .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's overall risk management strategy , aligning with business objectives.
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize potential risks across all business functions, including financial, operational, and strategic risks.
- Design and implement risk mitigation plans and controls, and monitor their effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Prepare regular risk reports for senior management and the board of directors.
- Foster a strong risk management culture through training, communication, and policy development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management , with significant experience in the insurance sector.
- In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, frameworks (e.g., COSO), and mitigation techniques.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with experience managing teams.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CRM, PRM, FRM) are highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, collaborating across teams in Sandton and remotely.
