The pristine Reddam House Ballito campus is situated in the heart of Ballito, boasting a prime, easily accessible location. ROLE SUMMARY:

To adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them. To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Plan, prepare and present interesting and exciting History lessons.
  2. Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes engaged learning.
  3. Behave in a professional manner regarding punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and students' homework.
  4. Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
  5. Be open to continuously developing one's teaching through personal and school wide professional development.
  6. Teach extra lessons when required, on two afternoons per week.
  7. Produce resources of a high standard for students.
  8. Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
  9. Show loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
  10. Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the Head of School.
  11. Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation.
  12. Write report comments.
  13. The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determines.

  3. A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area
  4. Ability to judge learning effectiveness
  5. Excellent preparation and planning
  6. Assessment of student outcomes and feedback to enhance performance
  7. Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare
  8. A minimum of 5 years' experience with students in a school
  9. Confidence with use of ICT in teaching
  10. Previous experience with High school History
  11. University degree in appropriate subject
  12. Certified Teaching Status
  13. Appropriate right to work
