We’re looking for a Senior Sales Associate to join our Nintendo in-store team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional who can combine a passion for gaming with strong commercial awareness, customer service, and floor leadership.

As a Senior Sales Associate, you will lead by example on the sales floor, drive revenue and add-on sales, support and coach Sales Assistants, and ensure that the Nintendo brand experience is consistently delivered to the highest standard.

Your Responsibilities

Drive Sales & Revenue

  • Lead by example on the sales floor to achieve daily and monthly individual and store revenue targets.
  • Proactively drive cross-selling and upselling, with a particular focus on software and accessories.
  • Monitor daily sales performance against targets and adjust floor activity to maximise opportunities.
  • Drive key sales metrics including.

Own Floor Operations & Merchandising

  • Maintain an tidy sales floor and ensure visual merchandising is executed in line with brand standards.
  • Ensure all demo zones, interactive stations, and trial hardware are operational, clean, engaging, and fully stocked.
  • Manage floor replenishment.
  • Complete daily opening and closing floor checks, including POS readiness and security procedures.
  • Take accountability for maintaining strong stock accuracy and minimising shrinkage.

Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience

  • Set the standard for exceptional customer service across every customer touchpoint.
  • Actively engage customers at demo and trial zones and convert floor traffic into sales.
  • Handle customer queries confidently and resolve floor-level issues quickly and professionally.
  • De-escalate customer concerns and ensure appropriate issues are resolved within the same shift or within 24 hours.
  • Gather customer feedback and share relevant insights with the Store Manager.

Lead & Develop the Sales Team

  • Motivate Sales Assistants during shifts to optimise sales performance and customer service.
  • Provide ongoing on-the-job coaching and training in product knowledge, Nintendo software titles, sales techniques, and effective pitching.
  • Ensure effective floor coverage and manage staff rotation during peak trading periods.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, collaborative, high-performance team environment.

  • Support consistent standards for punctuality, presentation, conduct, and professional behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Completed National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
  • 2+ years of retail sales or sales consultant experience, preferably within gaming, consumer electronics, technology, or a similar environment.
  • Previous experience taking a senior, supervisory, key-holder, or floor-leading role will be advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for gaming and strong knowledge of Nintendo products, franchises, consoles, games, and accessories.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of upselling, cross-selling, add-on sales, and sales KPIs.
  • Confident communication and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and influence other team members.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused when dealing with customer concerns.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Sandton City.
