Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the OOH, Print and TV Media portfolio (Product specific).
  2. Build relationships with our account executives and media owners.
  3. Perform TV bookings on the Telmar bookings system.
  4. Evaluate ATL media and sponsorship proposals.
  5. Conduct daily in-depth analysis of marketing performance data, providing input and recommendations on marketing expenses and spot picking strategy for optimal performance.
  6. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reporting in MS Excel and written in report format in MS Word.
  7. Manage and take responsibility for the allocated advertising budget.
  8. Utilize Nielsen data in Excel to build Share of Voice graphs and reports for the business.
  9. Compile competitor behavior and competitor media spend reports.
  10. Conduct ad-hoc analysis of media spend, spots, performance, etc., as requested by the business.
  11. Assist in writing short, creative briefs for the creative team for TV, Outdoor, and print.
  12. Create flighting codes for production when needed.
  13. Track daily leads per media and channel, providing recommendations to optimize performance.
  14. Check and sign ATL invoices.
  15. Make recommendations on new advertising mediums to improve lead generation.

Qualifications:

  1. Matric.
  2. Completed Marketing diploma or Marketing bachelor's degree.
  3. Statistics and/or mathematics as a subject at tertiary level is beneficial.
  4. Advanced Excel course is beneficial.

Experience:

  1. At least 3 years' experience in media planning.
  2. Experience working with Telmar and/or Nielsen is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Solid understanding of the media industry.
  2. Good understanding of direct response advertising.
  3. Knowledge of direct competitors and their strategies.
  4. Self-starter with ownership of projects and daily tasks.
  5. Strong numerical skills and enjoyment of working with numbers.
  6. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including large data sets, intricate formulas, and pivot tables) is essential.
  7. Strong analytical skills for informed decision-making and recommendations.
  8. Effective communication skills for relaying recommendations and concerns with marketing team and media partners.
  9. Experience in compiling competitor behavior and media spend reports.
  10. Understanding of Telmar and media bookings/scheduling is advantageous.
  11. Strong skills working with Nielsen.
  12. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  13. Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  14. Excellent existing relationships with media industry partners.
  15. Ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a team.
