We are seeking an Enterprise Architecture expert looking to step up their career on strategic planning/management level.

Position Title: Enterprise Information Technology Architect

Location: Cape Town, with hybrid working

Level: Associate Manager

Reporting to: Director of IT Governance and Information Security.

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to drive Morae's strategic alignment of both corporate and client capabilities with business objectives. This role will focus on implementing enterprise architecture frameworks, IT governance, best-practice implementation, and architectural management to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient technology operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models, along with experience implementing best practices across complex technology ecosystems.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise architecture, IT governance, or related roles.
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification or equivalent (e.g., Zachman, SABSA, COBIT).
  • Experience of developing enterprise architecture to deliver strategy, enterprise, or solution architecture.
  • Experience in delivering IT strategies that enable business change.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and data architecture.
  • Experience with IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, or ISO 27001.
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex IT strategies in business terms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement scalable solutions.
  • Experience in leading IT infrastructure and application modernisation.
  • Experience of Security and Risk practices and the ability to deliver effective outcomes that balance functional and non-functional drivers.
  • Knowledge of process improvement and delivery methodologies (Agile, Product Management).
  • Experience in legal sector, eDiscovery and Document Management architecture would be advantageous.
  • Planning and strategic management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaboration and conflict management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT strategy.
  • Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and implement best practices for IT operations, including cloud adoption, cybersecurity, and data management.
  • Define and manage enterprise technology standards, guidelines, and policies to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to drive architectural decisions, balancing innovation with risk management.
  • Oversee the design and integration of enterprise systems, ensuring interoperability, security, and scalability.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance to IT and service delivery teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT systems, data, and infrastructure.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their impact on the organization's architecture and IT strategy.
