Role

The role of a QA Engineer with expertise in Katalon involves a crucial aspect of quality assurance in software development. This role primarily focuses on testing software applications' API (Application Programming Interfaces) using Katalon Platform, a leading All-in-one, No-Code/Low-Code, AI Augmented QA Platform. Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with Software Developers and Business Analysts to understand project requirements and API specifications.
  2. Develop and maintain automated test scripts in Katalon Studio.
  3. Perform API testing to validate functionality and data integrity.
  4. Identify, Report, and Track Defects on Katalon, and work closely with developers for resolution.
  5. Identify, request and maintain test data for API testing in a necessary test environment.
  6. Continuously improve and update test suites to adapt to changing requirements and project needs.
  7. Participate in test automation framework development and enhancement efforts.
  8. Monitor and analyze test results, investigate failures, and provide clear and actionable feedback.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software.
  10. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in API testing and automation.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 3+ years of experience in Software testing.
  2. Understanding of API concepts, SOAP, RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and JSON.
  3. Willing to dedicate time to learn & get certified in Katalon.
  4. Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  5. Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  6. Knowledge of test management tools and agile development methodologies is a plus.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  9. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  10. Relevant certifications in software or API testing (e.g., ISTQB/Katalon) is a plus.

Qualification & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, National Diploma or any related field.
