Job Purpose:

The Project Planner (Mechanical) will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering projects. This role will involve ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Planner will act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and support to the engineering team to ensure project objectives are met.

What will you be doing?

  1. Assume responsibility for the comprehensive planning and execution of mechanical engineering projects.
  2. Ensure projects are delivered punctually, within budgetary constraints, and to the highest standards of quality.
  3. Manage resources efficiently and provide detailed project status reports.
  4. Handle all necessary administrative duties to maintain project momentum.
  5. Act as the central point of communication for all project stakeholders, fostering clear and consistent updates.
  6. Effectively manage contracts while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  7. Take full ownership of assigned projects by implementing detailed tracking and monitoring systems to ensure timely completion and expedite manufacturing processes.
  8. Serve as the principal liaison and strategic advisor to the engineering team, guaranteeing the successful attainment of all project objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: N6 or equivalent tertiary qualification in Engineering or Aerospace Technology. Aircraft related trade is essential.

Experience: At least 5-10 years of hands-on experience in the aviation or aerospace industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and coordination.
