As the Statutory Reporting & Policy Advice Manager, you will be one of the principal contacts for complex IFRS accounting matters. You will be the subject matter expert on IFRS accounting matters and provide critical guidance, training and advice to the group. This role will be a key interface with the external audit team, co-ordinating the audit effort across the group and ensuring an effective audit.

Requirements

Principle accountabilities

  1. Owning IFRS accounting guidelines
  2. Preparing accounting policies and maintaining VE's accounting manual
  3. Identifying, analysing and implementing new IFRS accounting standards within VE and ensuring their application
  4. Providing IFRS and reporting training to VE's finance organization
  5. Statutory reporting
  6. Ensure Accounting Standards are understood, and changes are introduced to all operating units
  7. Produce accurate consolidated results for audit purposes
  8. Prepare regular management reports, including KPIs, dashboards/board packs, and performance summaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  9. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives
  10. Maintain and improve templates and processes for standardized reporting across OUs
  11. Stakeholder Collaboration
  12. Work closely with the Central accounting teams and OU local finance teams to ensure alignment on reporting and key timelines
  13. Respond to inquiries from OUs and other stakeholders regarding policy guidance
  14. Provide clear accounting and policy guidance/training
  15. System and Data Management
  16. Support the Group reporting team in maintaining and optimizing financial planning systems and tools
  17. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by performing reconciliations and validating inputs
  18. Assist in data migration and system improvement projects as required
  19. Continuous Improvement
  20. Identify opportunities to streamline financial planning and reporting processes for greater efficiency
  21. Contribute to the development of best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting

Key Challenges:

  1. Managing competing deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment
  2. Ensuring data consistency and accuracy across multiple OUs
  3. Translating complex financial data into clear and actionable insights
  4. Working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across multiple geographies

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  1. Chartered Accountant with articles at Big 4 Audit firm
  2. 7 - 10 years relevant professional experience
  3. Accountancy experience at group reporting level within a multinational organisation and/or relevant audit experience within one of the international audit firms
  4. IFRS knowledge (ideally with accountancy/audit degree)
  5. Extensive internal controls knowledge and internal or external audit experience
  6. Very strong analytical and communication skills

Desirable:

  1. Experience in downstream Oil and Gas or manufacturing industries
  2. Previous hands-on consolidation experience for large group of companies

Competencies:

  2. Communication: Clearly present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
