Flexi Driver

Job Summary:

Bag Drop is seeking reliable, punctual and customer-oriented freelance drivers to assist with our luggage collection and delivery services. As a Flexi Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting customers' luggage between designated locations, such as accommodations, storage facilities, Cape Town Cruise Terminal and the Cape Town International Airport. This is a flexible freelance role, ideal for individuals with their own delivery vehicle who are looking for supplementary income.

Key Responsibilities:

• Luggage Collection & Delivery: Pick up luggage from customers' designated locations and deliver it to the assigned drop-off points.
• Timely Service: Adhere to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times to ensure smooth customer experiences.
• Customer Interaction: Provide friendly and professional service while handling customers' luggage.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure your vehicle is in good condition and suitable for transporting luggage securely.
• Knowledge of Cape Town: Be familiar with major areas, key tourist destinations, roads and traffic patterns to navigate efficiently.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License: A valid South African driver's license with a PrDP.
• Own Reliable Vehicle: A well-maintained vehicle with sufficient space for luggage transportation.
• Smartphone with Internet Access: Ability to use our driver app and WhatsApp for job assignments and customer communication.
• Availability & Flexibility: Willingness to work on a flexible, on-demand basis, including weekends and peak travel times.
• Punctual & Reliable: Strong time-management skills to ensure timely collections and deliveries.
• Customer Service Skills: Friendly and professional demeanour when interacting with customers.
• Ability to Lift & Handle Luggage: Physically able to lift, load and unload luggage safely.
• Cape Town Knowledge: Familiarity with major locations, roads, hotels, and tourist areas to navigate efficiently and ensure smooth deliveries.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all road safety regulations and company policies regarding luggage handling and transportation.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 Years of Driving Experience: as a delivery driver or logistics-related role is preferred.
• Experience in Customer-Facing Roles: such as courier services or tourism is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Cape Town's Road Network & Traffic Patterns: is essential for efficient routing and on-time collections and deliveries.
• Previous Experience in the Tourism or Hospitality Industry: is a bonus.
