Our client, a globally recognized shipping and logistics organization, is seeking a General Manager – Logistics & Freight Forwarding to spearhead its expansion and lead the establishment of a new logistics division in South Africa. What You'll Be Doing

As the General Manager – Logistics & Freight Forwarding, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's logistics strategy across South Africa. Your key responsibilities will include:

Business Growth & Market Expansion

  1. Identify new business opportunities in logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain solutions.
  2. Develop and present compelling business cases that drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  3. Position the company as a market leader in door-to-door logistics solutions.

Operational Setup & Optimization

  1. Oversee the establishment of logistics operations, including warehousing, trucking, and intermodal solutions.
  2. Build and manage a reliable network of partners to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
  3. Optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Intermodal & Cross-Border Solutions

  1. Develop and implement innovative multimodal transport solutions tailored to customer needs.
  2. Navigate South Africa's regulatory landscape and cross-border trade complexities.
  3. Ensure operational compliance with all national and international regulations.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  1. Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers, port authorities, transport providers, and key industry stakeholders.
  2. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering customized logistics solutions.
  3. Lead contract negotiations, ensuring win-win partnerships that drive long-term success.

Financial Performance & Profitability

  1. Drive financial success through strategic cost management and margin optimization.
