About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled VoIP Network Engineer to join their technology team, offering a fully remote position. This role is vital for designing, implementing, and managing their Voice over IP infrastructure, ensuring seamless and high-quality voice communication services. You will be responsible for the performance, security, and scalability of the VoIP network, working with cutting-edge communication technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in a remote setting and possesses a deep understanding of VoIP protocols and network architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain the company's VoIP infrastructure, including PBX systems, gateways, and session border controllers (SBCs).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot VoIP call quality issues, ensuring high availability.
- Implement and manage security measures for the VoIP network to prevent unauthorized access and fraud.
- Configure and manage codecs, Quality of Service (QoS), and other parameters to optimize voice traffic.
- Collaborate with IT and network teams to integrate VoIP solutions with existing infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain documentation for VoIP systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a specialization in VoIP technologies.
- Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, H.323, and other VoIP protocols.
- Hands-on experience with major VoIP platforms and SBCs.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
- Experience with firewall configurations and security best practices for VoIP.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating strong self-management skills.
