Our client is looking for a Head of Marketing with Agency Experience - this is a must and our client is very specific on this. We are not looking for Marketing Managers from corporate, you must have AGENCY EXPERIENCE.

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing the company's marketing strategy and plan to increase brand awareness and reach, create campaigns and content that drive audience resonance, drive customer acquisition through leads, drive innovation within the business, and work closely with the operational teams to ensure alignment of the brand strategy across the business.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the South African target market, a thirst for knowledge and customer understanding, exceptional leadership skills, a flare for ideation and creative thinking, with a proven track record in managing successful marketing campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Strategic Planning :

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies, plans and campaigns to achieve business goals and drive aggressive business growth and scale.
  2. Staying abreast of current market condition, competitors and segments to identify opportunities and understand customer needs and preferences.
  3. Attend weekly Management Meetings to drive the marketing strategy across the business.
  4. Collaborate across the business division to identify new opportunities which align marketing strategies with business objectives.

Service Provider Management :

  1. Manage and monitor the company's service providers to ensure they are delivering the agreed outputs and continuously drive improvement.
  2. Manage the budget, scope of work and delivery of key service providers.

Campaign Management :

  1. Identify and allocate key service providers to deliver against campaign objectives.
  2. Oversee the creation and execution of innovative marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social media, print, and events.
  3. Analyse and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, making data-driven decisions to optimize performance.

Brand Management :

  1. Lead brand positioning and messaging to ensure consistency and strengthen brand identity.
  2. Create and manage the brand messaging matrix and drive this across the business and with service providers.
  3. Manage our client's positive public standing through PR efforts and maintain favourable media relations.
  4. Ensure the brand is represented accurately and consistently across all external and internal communication channels.
  5. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
  6. Drive ideation and collaboration across the business departments.
  7. Foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and take ownership of projects.

Budget Management :

  1. Prepare and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and funds.
  2. Track and report on marketing expenditures and ROI.

Partnerships and Collaboration :

  1. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with agencies, vendors, and other third-party organizations.
  2. Align with sales, product development, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive and customer-centric marketing efforts.
  3. Ensure partners collaborate and report on the brand with a united perspective of the brand's performance.

Digital Marketing :

  1. Lead digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and content marketing.
  2. Stay abreast of digital marketing trends and technologies to keep the company at the forefront of the industry.
EDUCATION AND SKILLSET REQUIRED :
  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  2. Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior marketing role, with a track record of successful marketing campaigns and team leadership.
  3. Strong understanding of current digital marketing techniques and best practices.
  4. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  5. Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  7. Strong presentation skills and ability to create Shareholder Presentations.
  8. Proficient in marketing software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, Google Analytics, social media platforms).
