Description: Simonsig Wines, situated in the famous Stellenbosch wine region, has the above opportunity for an energetic team player with knowledge of general accounting principles, paired with an organised, thorough, & detailed approach to work.

Duties will include:

  1. Maintaining an up-to-date billing system
  2. Generating & sending invoices
  3. Handling billing, follow-ups, collection, allocation of payments, and reporting of activities
  4. Processing receipts, cash, etc.
  5. Performing account reconciliations
  6. Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  7. Handling payment discrepancies
  8. Liaising with local and foreign customers via phone and email
  9. Generating age analysis
  10. Reviewing AR aging to ensure compliance
  11. Maintaining debtors files and records
  12. Developing recovery system and initiate collection efforts
  13. Making process improvements where needed
  14. Taking responsibility for month-end closing on debtors
  15. Collecting data and preparing monthly metrics
  16. Collaborating with warehouse staff regarding stock control
  17. Assisting sales team with ad-hoc pricing & sales administration tasks on system
  18. All related accounting and administrative tasks.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  1. Matric;
  2. Approximately 2-3 years' experience in an accounts receivable and general accounting role (experience in the wine industry advantageous);
  3. Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements;
  4. Excellent computer literacy (MS Office required, EzyWine advantageous);
  5. Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans);
  6. Own reliable transport.
