Contract : 12-month initial contract (Highly likely to be extended, but no guarantees) - Self-employed contractor.

The Role : As a Graphic Designer at Twinkl, you'll join a small production team to produce a wide variety of beautiful learning materials. You'll undergo 3 weeks of foundation training on our brand guidelines, design templates, software, and working methods. Once training is completed, you'll utilize programs such as InDesign, PowerPoint, and Word to work through a steady stream of editorial and layout design work, collaborating with qualified teachers who write and check the content for our resources before they're uploaded to our website.

How you'll spend your day : Your morning may start with a short video call with your production team. You'll use InDesign, PowerPoint, and Word to create high-priority resources. You may also have regular catch-ups with your line manager or CPD sessions.

To succeed in the role, you will :

  1. Have excellent English and Afrikaans language skills.
  2. Have strong experience in InDesign.
  3. Have experience of following brand guidelines.
  4. Be able to take on feedback and develop your designs.
  5. Have an eye for detail, creativity, and imagination.
  6. Be proficient at managing workload and meeting targets and deadlines.
  7. Care about education and helping teachers and learners globally.

In this role, you will learn :

  1. How to be an in-house designer within a professional workplace.
  2. Understand the resource lifecycle from content creation to user download.
  3. Learn the importance of the end user, accessibility, and functionality.
  4. Work in an Agile production team environment.

You'll work with : An international team of designers, illustrators & teachers. A team leader and a team of + designers.

  2. Is organised, able to work to deadlines, and manages time effectively.
  3. Has a passion for design and produces quality work.
